Hi Dave: I love your slideshow...I never realized what Denver was singing about...I though he was from Colorado. We live in Vancouver, BC (Canada) and want to take a trip next July to the deep South. I want my kids to see some of the civil rights exhibits and civil war exhibits. Also, I want them to see another culture, other than middle class homogenous life. Any suggestions about where in particular to visit? Any really down home genuine places to stay? Thanks to your readers in advance for any ideas.

I Love WEST VIRGINIA I go there all the time and a lot of those picturs i have bben there and saw. But then again there is a lot of west virginia that i have not yet seen.
I have been living in Wheeling, WV for 3 month and 17 days now. I never liked a place as I like West Virginia. I want to live and die in West Virginia, It is the Heaven. unfortunately, I have to leave it soon. I pray I can come back, and live in West Virginia
Love the slideshow but it makes me homesick. One day I'm moving back to my real home forever!

I love West Virginia. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Shenandoah River in Harpers Ferry. I lived on the "Mountain" and always hated it. I thought it was the trashiest place I had ever been. (The only place I ever knew) I always thought I can't wait to get out of this place. I moved to Texas and really do miss West Virginia now. I love my home state and will never forget where I came from. There really is no place like West Virgina that you'll ever find on earth.

I love West Virginia I Unfortunately live in North Carolina I am under the age of 18 and I ready to move out and I hate it down here all you have are ugly pine trees and you have to go and pick up the needles and pine cones it is so annyoing and I don't like my Mom bossing me around and I was born and raised and lived with my grandparents for 10 years and lived in NC for 4 years so soon as I am 18 I am out of here so long STUPID NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE WEST VIRGINIA!!! I recently went on vacation to Virginia Beach and after 10 minutes I was already home sick. I live in Dingess (lower part of Mingo County, no one knows it) and have been here all my life. I always have loved and respected this amazing state and if you live here and you don't like, then I honestly don't want you here.
I've been to over half the United States, and lived in a few different ones. I can say that, in my mind, West Virginia is the best. Such a beautiful country with fertile land, plenty of fish and game, and the friendliest people anywhere. There are mountains and valleys and rivers and creeks. And who doesn't enjoy Shoneys? Aww, that's good!
Oh, West Virginia, the next time these wandering feet touch your blessed soil they shall not forsake you again. Take me home, country roads...
I live in Florida and my long distance boyfriend lives in WV. He's someone I met in my home town in Ia as a child and we both have gone our separate ways. Well 20 years later we connect on facebook and things are great between us. Only problem is I am here and he is there. Its very difficult decision as to what will happen now between us. I absolutely love tropical south florida. But the more I look at WV Im beginning to think leaving won't be that bad if I get to live in a beautiful place like WV. I know he's not willing to leave that area because of his work so its up to me. I have to say your video was really pretty. Thanks for posting.
