Following what you have seen in New Orleans, are you more or less sure that our government can handle a weapons-of-mass-destruction attack on an American city?
This has just confirmed in my mind that we are not prepared. Having said that, I don't think we're ever going to be completely prepared for this type of natural disaster nor do I think we can prepare for every contingency of attack, but we sure as heck should be able to do a better job than this.
I do not now and have never beleived that our government could make us safe.
In fact, I don't think they (the goverment) should try. For the most part, it seems like when they try to make us safer, all it does is make life less enjoyable and all of use more paranoid.

You're kidding, right?
I'd say this absolutely shows that we are completely unprepared for catastrophy no matter the cause.
It's really sad that the REST of the world now sees how 'rich and powerful' the US truly is.
How fast did we respond to the tsunami again?
